Black Ball Final?
Following on from the Corn Exchange meeting on the 5th July, action has now commenced against the board of Scottish Snooker Ltd to assert members’ rights.
Over the last two days. Edinburgh lawyers acting for Paul Marinello, on behalf of the EGM signatories, have written to Scottish Snooker Ltd demanding a copy of the voting membership register. All board members were sent a copy of that letter by recorded delivery. The board have received the following ultimatum:- Failure by the Company to do so will leave our Client with no option but to raise Court proceedings against the Company and the Company’s office bearers and should such a step be taken then those proceedings will be raised without further notice being intimated to the Company or to any of the Company’s office bearers. Any action would seek an award of expenses as well as an Order from the Court to make the Register available and it may well be the case that the Court would decide to impose other sanctions. In addition, The lawyers have also reported the situation to Companies House and provided further information at their request, pending investigation. 33 Members represented at the Corn Exchange meeting agreed to pursue the above actions along with other options. Ironically, the last correspondence received by Paul Marinello declared that Stevie Baillie would resign from the board if he had to hand over the register in accordance with the law. In the light of many breaches of trust and financial dubiety, there is massive support for change in the administration of Scottish Snooker with approximately 44% of the membership actively behind the movement. It seems ridiculous that members have to go to this length to ensure that their rights are protected and asserted, but it would appear to be the only way when the democratic process is regularly corrupted and negated by an intransigent board of directors. The EGM to remove the errant directors will be reconvened as soon as practicable, unless of course they resign in response to the latest actions THIS THREAD IS CLOSED FOLLOW THE FORUM HERE |
